Position Summary
Youll help deliver pest control programs, research best practices, and provide humane, effective solutions for managing wildlife and pest issues. The role includes identifying pests in the urban forest, coordinating herbicide activities, supervising staff, maintaining records, and offering expert guidance to residents and stakeholders in a dynamic, handson environment focused on environmental stewardship.
What You Bring
- Postsecondary education in biological sciences, wildlife management, IPM, or a related field
- Experience identifying tree species, diagnosing tree diseases, and managing pest issues
- Proven ability to supervise work crews, schedule tasks, and maintain operational records
- Required certifications: WHMIS, Boat Safe, PAL, Class 5 Drivers Licence, Pesticide Applicator Licences, and a provincially recognized treepruning qualification
- Minimum two years of pest management experience and at least five years of safe firearm handling
