Reporting to the Child and Family Services Supervisor, the Foster Care Worker will be responsible for recruiting and training Foster Parents.
Duties include, but are not limited to;
Reporting directly to the Child and Family Supervisor.
Recruit Foster Parents, Foster Homes, Safe Homes, Emergency Homes, Therapeutic and extended family.
For the placement of children and care including initial contacts, criminal check, references, home study and home visits.
Prepare for and conduct foster care pre-service, therapeutic and practitioner training.
Complete all forms for maintenance including instructing foster parents on form completion.
Ongoing meetings with foster parents to work with any concerns or problems they may have with the children.
To be an Officer Under the Act with all the powers ancillary thereto pursuant to The Child & Family Services Act, for the Province of Saskatchewan.
To be on-call as required.
Develop special care homes for special needs children.
To always maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
To perform all such duties as may be directed by the Child and Family Supervisor, the Prevention Coordinator &/or the Agency Director.
To prepare for and appear at Court as required.
Work closely with Family and Child Protection Workers: changes in families and placements for children in care.
Do Annual reviews of Foster Homes.
Do daily living support and reviews of therapeutic children.
Acts as an advocate in some capacity.
Can be utilized to translate.
Provide community education and awareness.
Other duties as directed.
