The Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated Summer Student interested in business, community development, and communications. This position offers an opportunity to learn, grow professional skills, earn summer income, and contribute to the success of the Chamber and the business community in Southwest Saskatchewan.
Working in a professional, member-based organization, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting Chamber operations, member engagement, communications, and events. This role provides meaningful responsibility and exposure to a wide range of local businesses and community partners.
Learning Opportunity
The Summer Student will be assigned a significant project to complete over the term, in addition to providing operational and event support. The role offers direct interaction with Chamber member businesses across sectors including retail, professional services, agriculture, oil and gas, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement Project
Develop a plan to meet with a majority of the Chambers approximately 400 member businesses and gather feedback, subject to approval.
Meet with member businesses to collect insights and perspectives.
Organize, analyze, and summarize information collected.
Prepare a summary report with key findings and insights for staff.
Act as a liaison between member businesses and Chamber staff through this work.
Communications and Social Media
Lead day-to-day Chamber social media activities, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement.
Assist with promotion of Chamber programs, events, and member initiatives.
Maintain a consistent, professional voice aligned with Chamber branding.
Office, Event, and Community Support
Provide general office and administrative support.
Assist with planning and delivery of Chamber events and meetings.
Positively represent the Chamber at community events and partner initiatives.Other duties as assigned.
