Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mental Wellness Advisor to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority is a proactive and growing healthcare organization that provides health program support to its four northern partners: PAGC, MLTC, LLRIB, and PBCN.
The Mental Wellness Advisor offers support, guidance, and resources to NITHA partnership communities facing mental health challenges. This role involves evaluating needs, creating community intervention plans, and providing crisis support, coordination, and referral resource development. The Mental Wellness Advisor collaborates with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community groups to improve mental well-being, increase access to services, and promote capacity building. The Advisor assists second-level service providers in planning, developing, implementing, and assessing Mental Wellness program strategies. In consultation with the four NITHA partners, develop a comprehensive framework that includes a service delivery model covering mental wellness, assessment, education, intervention, treatment, and aftercare.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
    A Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling from a recognized university or a relevant field. A Masters degree is an asset.
    Must be eligible or registered with a professional association or licensing/credential bodies such as the CCPA, CPCA, CPA, and NIHB.
    Ability to apply knowledge of best practices related to models of care, research, and trends in the field of mental wellness.
    Provide evidence of previous proposal/policy framework development.
    Knowledge of community development.
    Proficiency in documentation and report writing.
    Experience working respectfully with First Nations people and organizations with cultural awareness, knowledge and sensitivity.
    Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
    Valid Class 5 driver'ss license required.
