Position Summary
The Tank Welder is responsible for welding, repairing, and fabricating tank structures at client sites across Canada. This role is field-based and reports to the on-site Project Manager or Superintendent. Work schedules vary by project, with shifts ranging from 812 hours per day. All site-specific requirements must be met prior to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications
Prepare workpieces using grinders and hand tools
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding and flame-cutting equipment
Perform Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) as required
Select appropriate welding processes, tools, and materials
Assist with fit-up, alignment, and weld preparation
Complete daily safety documentation accurately
Work at heights and in confined spaces
Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs
Qualifications
Strong commitment to safety
Valid CWB FCAW and SMAW all-position tickets
Journeyperson Welder Certification (preferred)
WHMIS 2015 required
Fall Protection, AWP, CSTS 2020, Confined Space, and CSO (assets)
Ability to pass pre-employment and site-specific drug and alcohol testing
