Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities include:
-Under the direction of a senior employee, Drillers duties such as:
o Operating 100Ton Capacity Drilling Rig with cyber chair
o Direct and supervise rig workers
o Monitor and record daily activities
o Operate mud pump and monitor solids separation system
o Direct crew in a safe and efficient manner on rig moves
-Enforce safety standards, conduct risk assessments, report incidents and manage crew in a safe responsible manner
-Successfully complete training in the following areas: confined space entry, fall protection, lockout, WHMIS, radiation
-Actively participate in weekly safety huddles
Skills and Qualifications:
-Possess Grade 12 or equivalent
-Experience with chair operated drill is preferred
-2 years of drilling experience on drilling rigs with similar hook load is required
-Oil and Gas drilling experience preferred
-Valid Class 5 or Northern Class 5 (Novice 2) drivers license is required
-Must have good communication skills
Work Conditions, Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
-May be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
-Ability to work rotating shifts (days and nights)
