In this role, you will:
-Ensure acquisition and management of diamond drill core logging, record data into the database and verify the accurate selection and shipment of core samples
-Have oversight for underground tunneling, provide guidance on development, ground conditions and ensure prints are followed
-Be responsible for recording and reporting NATM (New Austrian Tunnelling Method) activity, underground mapping of development headings, computerized data management, data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and radiometric probing
Required:
-Bachelors degree in geology or geological engineering
-Minimum of two years of relevant geological/mine geology experience (core logging, underground geological mapping)
-Experience working in an underground work environment
-Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Ability and willingness to perform manual labour, including heavy lifting, as required for this position
-Valid class 5 drivers licence
-Safety oriented work attitude
-Work a rotational schedule, including night shift, and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
-Working knowledge of geological database and mining software: AcQuire, Vulcan and Leapfrog
