Job Description
Aldon Oils. is seeking a student to assist with building and maintaining data systems and developing automation tools. This role is ideal for a student interested in data analysis, programming, and practical software development in a real-world environment.
The student will work on hands-on projects involving databases, spreadsheets, and scripting, with opportunities to assist in the design, testing, and refinement of internal tools and automation workflows that improve efficiency, data quality, and decision-making. Through this role, the student will gain exposure to real-world oil and gas operations, engineering workflows, and geological data systems.

Key Responsibilities
    Assist in building and maintaining databases using Microsoft Access and Excel
    Organize, clean, and manage datasets for analysis and reporting
    Assist in writing and improving scripts in Python and/or R for data analysis, automation, and data processing workflows
    Support the development, testing, and improvement of internal tools and automation workflows
    Collaborate with team members to understand data and workflow requirements
    Document workflows, scripts, and data structures
    Assist in ad hoc project in all departments

Requirements
    Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year post-secondary program in Computer Science, Data Science or related fields and returning to studies in the fall
    Experience with Excel (formulas, tables, basic data manipulation)
    Experience with Python and/or R; familiarity with SQL is an asset
    Comfortable learning new tools and problem-solving independently
    Strong attention to detail and organization
    Students with strong programming skills in other fields (Geoscience/Engineering/Business) will also be considered
