Responsibilities
Discuss, understand and execute typical carpentry tasks such as: Installing doors, trim, flooring, windows, and framing.
Read and understand Blueprints.
Occasional tasks will be laborious in nature such as demolishing concrete, placing new concrete, laying Sod, other landscaping, etc.
Class 5 License is required.
Driving trucks with trailers.
Employees must have access to a smartphone for a company paid app. This is to handle timecards, job notes, tasks, etc.
Employees must be respectful and level headed as they are often working in occupied homes. There is a zero tolerance policy for verbal abuse or theft.
Employees must arrive on time, or provide reasonable notice for absence in writing.
Personal tools must be provided by employees (typical tool pouch). Power tools are not necessary and will be provided.
Required PPE: CSA approved Boots. Safety glasses, hardhats, hearing protection and fall protection are provided on site as required.
If an employee is required to use their own vehicle throughout the day, they will be compensated at the CRA posted rate per km. Employees are required to get to the first job site/ location and from the last job site/ location on their own time.
Wages to be discussed in an interview. Expect a trial period that aligns with the Probationary Period outlined in SK Labor Standards.
A valid criminal record check is required prior to employment.
Qualifications:
4th year apprentice or Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter's Certificate.
Class 5 license or better.
Reliable Time Management.
Leadership skills.
The ability to problem solve and "see the bigger picture".
Experience with finish carpentry.
