Facility: The Salvation Army, William Booth Special Care Home

Department: Food Services

Type: Casual

FTE: No guaranteed hours

Hours of Work:  Successful applicant must be available at least 30% of full-time hours or at least two or three days per week. They must also be available all shifts, including short shifts (3 hour minimum and 8 hours maximum per shift), short notices calls and Statutory holidays. Successful applicant should be available two weekends in a three-week roster. There are no guaranteed hours.

Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 12 $ 23.170 to $24.840 (3 step range)
Job Summary: Responsible for organizing, producing and distributing food and beverages.
Experience: Previous Six (6) months on-the-job experience in order to become familiar with timelines, special diets, large quantity food production and department policies and procedures.
Travel Required: No

Journeyperson Cook Certificate
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to work independently

- Organizational skills
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Food Safe Certificate
- Valid driver's license, where require
Additional Requirement
- Must be available a minimum of 2- 4 shifts per week
Additional Text:
Responsible for maintaining the kitchen clean and organized, coordinating with all kitchen & other dept. staff, preparing meals and handling food in accordance with SK. Food safety regulations, creating new recipes including baking, developing menus and placing food and kitchen supplies orders.
