Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing, the RN will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of patient care within the Pediatric Day medicine/ Oncology unit. This includes supporting and administering chemotherapy infusions, at times providing pediatric day medicine infusions, and supporting pediatric procedures. This position is located in the Pediatric Oncology Unit within JPCH.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience in acute care
- Two years experience in Pediatric oncology
- Previous experience with administering chemotherapy is an asset
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- APHON certification
- Current PEARS or PALS is an asset
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
