The Saskatoon Housing Authority has an employment opportunity with our Community Outreach team; this is a permanent full-time position. The chosen candidate must create stability and successful tenancies for at-risk tenants through pre-emptive interventions by effectively identifying needs, coaching, counselling, and removing barriers that enable community integration, all while fostering and maintaining independence.
Key Responsibilities:
. Identify tenant behaviours/issues that threaten the tenancy.
. Engage appropriate resources to provide preventative supports to increase resilience, life skills development, and to achieve longer-term tenancies.
. Facilitate the process for at-risk tenants to engage/participate with community and service providers.
. Advocate on behalf of at-risk tenants for access to financial and social assistance programs.
. Attend case meetings, hearings, and if required, appointments with at-risk tenants.
. Guide and support tenants to access available services that will assist in achieving independence, and a greater sense of well-being.
. Encourage and support tenants in life skills development, such as, budgeting, home management, and recognizing that becoming a good tenant is a learned experience.
