Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Communications Technician will work with the Communications team to assist with administrative and technical support. This position provides A/V support during live events where a complex setup is required, such as livestreaming, along with social media marketing and website updates.
Assists Paradise Radio with live-on-location technical setup, show production, on-air board operation, and podcasting.
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Strong computer skills, with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, radio broadcast/DJ software, and audio editing tools.
Experience using social media platforms for communication or content sharing is an asset.
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including phone systems, photocopiers, fax machines, and mail equipment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the public, committee members, Chief and Council, coworkers, and Cowessess Citizens.
Ability to work effectively in a positive, collaborative team environment, while also following direction and working independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational, coordination, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
Positive, adaptable approach to problem-solving in both studio and field environments.
Experience with graphic design is considered an asset.
Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of First Nations values, culture, and traditions are assets.
Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
