The Ministry is seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join its team as Child Protection Assistant Supervisors. This role is ideal for professionals devoted to improving the safety and wellbeing of children and families while supporting frontline staff through leadership, mentorship, and collaboration. The successful candidate is a confident leader who works respectfully with diverse teams and community partners and is committed to inclusive, culturally responsive practice, with particular awareness of First Nations and Metis perspectives.
The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and their impacts, as well as expertise in child protection policy, legislation, and program delivery. Candidates must be experienced in applying a range of social work theories and coaching or mentoring professional staff. Knowledge of Ministry policies and procedures, including the Child and Family Services Act, Family/Childrens Services, and PRIDE manuals, is required, along with the ability to work effectively with caregivers, supervisors, management teams, and partner agencies.
Responsibilities include supervising, mentoring, and training staff; providing leadership and decisionmaking support in the absence of the supervisor; assisting with service coordination across programs and agencies; acting as a liaison with First Nations Child and Family Services and community organizations; and representing the Ministry on internal or community committees.
