Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the Emergency Department Clinical Care Coordinator (CCC) is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care and service provision to patients and families in collaboration with the Inpatient Clinical Coordinator and managers within St. Peter's Hospital. As an experienced practitioner, the Emergency Department Clinical Care Coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise and coordination of patient care to provide support and teaching to the acute care team (including staff, patients and families) within a collaborative environment. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team ensures appropriate patient flow and proactive management of patient acuity. This role supports nursing staff through mentorship, problem-solving, and coordination of daily operations to maintain high standards of care and service delivery. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but critical thinking and independent judgement is an integral part of the position. The Clinical Care Coordinator will work closely with the Manager of the unit in program development, and policies and procedures to ensure a consistent approach based on research for best leading practice.
