Description

Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to lead all aspects of golf course maintenance. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the course is maintained to high standards of playability, safety, and appearance while managing staff, budgets, and resources in accordance with Canadian regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
     Plan, organize, and supervise all golf course maintenance
   programs.
     Develop and execute seasonal turf management plans suited to Canadian climate conditions
     Lead, train, and schedule maintenance staff and seasonal employees
     Oversee irrigation systems, drainage, and water management practices
     Manage fertilizer, pesticide, and chemical applications in compliance with provincial and federal regulations
     Ensure equipment maintenance and safe operation procedures are followed
     Prepare and manage departmental budgets and control operating expenses
     Maintain accurate records and reports related to turf, chemicals, and safety
     Communicate course conditions, projects, and priorities with ownership/management

Qualifications:
     Minimum 1-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance; Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent experience preferred
     Diploma or degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field
     Valid provincial Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain)
     Strong knowledge of turfgrass species suited to Canadian climates
     Proven leadership, organizational, and team-management skills
     Working knowledge of irrigation systems and golf course maintenance equipment
     Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
     Mechanical ability and skills will be considered an asset
