Description

The Ministry of Highways is offering a dynamic Equipment Operator role within Traffic Guidance Operations, supporting the Provincial Signs and Pavement Marking Crew. Key knowledge and skills include operating light and heavy equipment such as digger derricks, trucks, loaders, forklifts, tandems, and hand tools for installing and repairing highway signs. Candidates must understand equipment maintenance, including lubrication, inspections, and basic repairs. Skills in setting up safe work zones, directing traffic, completing field-level risk assessments, and monitoring traffic and equipment usage are essential. Basic reporting abilities are required to document hours, repairs, and materials. The role also involves stocking materials and assisting pavement marking crews as needed.
