Description

Fire Safety Professional to Develop Comprehensive Fire Safety & Evacuation Plans

Living Skies Housing Authority (LSHA) has an opportunity for a fire safety professional to review and develop comprehensive fire safety and evacuation plans for buildings located in SK. The contractor may be located anywhere centrally within the province. The contractor will collaborate with LSHA management, and multiple housing groups.

Utilizing your background and experience in fire safety and inspections, your primary task will be to lead the review, update, and development of comprehensive fire safety and evacuation plans for multi-unit residential apartment buildings located in SK that meet all national, provincial and municipal code requirements.

In addition to LSHA personnel you will be working with numerous local housing authority boards, managers, and local fire chiefs in the development of plans. This activity will include extensive travel, presentations and training, as well as securing local housing authority and fire chief approvals.

In the development of each plan, it will be necessary for each property to be inspected. You will track and communicate your progress as each plan is completed and endorsed.

The ideal candidate will have:
- post-secondary training and experience in fire safety and inspec.
- preferred but not required, certified as a Certified Fire Inspector (CFI) from the National Fire Protection Association.
- a very good understanding of current National (NFPA) fire codes.
- operational knowledge of different types of fire alarm panels and associated devices.
- operational knowledge of sprinkler systems and HVAC equipment.
- very good computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and AutoCad or equivalent.
- report and document writing
- proven experience in community development, organizational and property management.
- Superior interpersonal skills, written and oral com. skills.
