SUMMARY: Zagime Anishinabek currently has a herd of approximately 123 bison with 5 (five) separate paddocks/pastures. The bison worker must possess the knowledge and skills to manage the daily operations of the bison range.

DUTIES INCLUDE: Feeding, watering and daily care of bison herd, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all infrastructure, interactions with educational and cultural groups, attend hand-on training, maintain bison herd health data and records, prepare monthly reports and assist in bison intake stock, ensure all facilities and infrastructure are secure, assess and monitor the availability of native grass being grazed and water source availability. Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of effective pasture procedures, livestock techniques and stock management. Hands-on experience in livestock management, possess some knowledge or capability to assess herd health and administer minor treatment to sick livestock, skills to operate small farm equipment, physical capabilities, ability to record daily activities performed and maintain records. Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimum supervision. Demonstrate organization, punctuality, reliability and dependability. A valid class five drivers license, criminal record and pre-employment drug screen. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and flexible with work schedules.
