Description

The Kids First Home Visitor provides hands-on, culturally safe, and trauma-informed support to families with young children through regular home visits, advocacy, and connection to community resources. Under the direction of the Senior Home Visitor and Kids First Team Lead, the Home Visitor helps families strengthen parenting skills, promote child development, and achieve stability in areas such as housing, health, and education. This role supports parents in setting and achieving family goals, building trust, and accessing culturally relevant supports that promote well-being and belonging. The Home Visitor demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and cultural understanding in every interaction, ensuring that services reflect Eagle Heart Centre mission, values, and Indigenous worldviews.

Demonstrates deep understanding and respect for Indigenous worldviews, values, and community diversity; applies cultural safety in all family interactions.
Builds meaningful, trust-based relationships through strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and consistent communication.
Communicates clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats, adapting style to audience and context.
Manages time effectively, prioritizing tasks and maintaining accuracy and organization in a high-volume, dynamic environment.
Exercises sound professional judgment, confidentiality, and discretion when managing sensitive family information.
Adapts effectively to changing family needs, schedules, and program priorities while maintaining professionalism and consistency.
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft 365, data entry systems, and electronic documentation for accurate and timely reporting.
Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining initiative and accountability when working independently in community settings.
Actively engages in professional learning, reflective supervision, and continuous improvement to strengthen practice and outcomes.
