Position Overview
The Specialist, Business Development Support plays a key role in advancing Discover Saskatoons business events attraction and sales strategies. This role supports lead development, bid execution, and client servicing across the full sales cycle, working closely with internal teams, industry partners, and national and international clients.
Key responsibilities include researching and qualifying leads; coordinating bid submissions, site visits, familiarization tours, and in-market activations; maintaining accurate CRM and pipeline records; and supporting seamless client experiences. The role serves as a connector between clients, venues, hotels, service providers, and conference committees, while contributing to evolving sales strategies and initiatives such as Discover Saskatoons Legacy Project.
Success in this role requires strong organization, collaboration, adaptability, and a customer-centred mindset, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
5+ years in business development, sales, or event coordination
Experience with CRM systems, bids, and RFPs
Strong communication, relationship management, and project coordination skills
Tourism, hospitality, or event industry experience is an asset
