The LLRIB Stanley Mission Administration is seeking a results-oriented, strategic leader to serve as Director of Finance & Administration. This executive role provides overall financial and administrative leadership for the organization, ensuring strong fiscal management, accountability, and compliance.
Some Key Responsibilities include:
Leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets and financial plans
Overseeing financial controls, reporting, audits, and statutory compliance
Providing financial leadership and support to departments, including analysis of spending, risks, and variances
Supervising finance staff and ensuring effective accounting, reporting, and internal controls
Supporting organizational planning through short- and long-term financial forecasting
Ensuring compliance with the Financial Administration Law
Ensuring accurate financial reporting for all funding agreements and allocations to LLRIB communities and self-administrations
Supporting administrative units in aligning goals with overall Band objectives
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field
CPA designation or equivalent (required); Masters degree considered an asset
Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in a complex organization
Extensive experience working with Indigenous communities and a deep understanding of First Nation accounting systems, funding models, budgeting practices, internal controls, business planning, financial analysis, and asset management.
Proven experience managing budgets over $50 million
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Valid Class 5 Drivers License and satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector)
