Description

The Ministry of Highways is seeking a Program Officer to support the delivery and oversight of federal infrastructure programs within the Network Planning and Investment Branch. The ministry is looking for someone who can provide leadership in program management, support strategic initiatives, and help advance provincial priorities through effective coordination and analysis.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities. They are a collaborative team player with integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to service excellence and innovation. The role requires the ability to build relationships with federal and provincial partners, lead change, and prepare clear briefings, reports, and business cases.

Key knowledge and skills include proficiency in MS Office, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to research and analyze complex infrastructure issues. A degree in public policy, economics, public or business administration, or a related field, along with relevant experience, is required. Knowledge of GIS mapping software is an asset. Responsibilities may include managing federal program requirements, coordinating reporting and budgeting, supporting project prioritization, preparing applications for funding, negotiating agreements, and overseeing progress reporting.
