Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Dragline Maintenance Department.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
-Organizing, implementing and directing the activities of the Dragline Maintenance Department at the mine-site;
-Developing the budget and forecasts for all Dragline Maintenance expense and Capital spending;
-Managing an effective Dragline preventative maintenance program;
-Ensuring all activities in the department are in compliance with environment and safety legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines and standard mine operating procedures;
-Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in the department;
-Establishing a positive working environment by conducting and participating in activities that contribute to an effective working relationship with all employees;
-Promoting teamwork and employee development through effective communication and implementing and monitoring performance standards;
-Assuming other duties and/or responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economic and physical environment of the Mine or Company.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
-Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills;
-Have a minimum of 15 years of related mining experience in a managerial/supervisory role would be preferred;
-Possess a Journeymans Trade certificate or an Engineering degree;
-Have knowledge of all mining equipment and installations as well as experience and knowledge of current safety procedures;
-Possess an understanding of mine maintenance software tools;
-Have the ability to learn quickly and maintain motivation even in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, and policy, shift and schedule changes.
