SUMMARY:The Director of Child and Family Wellness provides executive management, strategic development, and planning that supports Zagim Anishinabk for services that support the safety and well-being of all members. This position is responsible for leading Zagim towards designation as an Indigenous Child Welfare Authority; they plan, direct, develop, and promote the safety, security, and well-being of children and families.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and manage the Child and Family Wellness Program's goals and objectives. Develop and monitor long and short-term planning in Child and Family Wellness. Create, implement, monitor, and report on the program budget in accordance with Government of Canada funding requirements and regulations. Compile and track statistical information for quarterly and annual reporting. Create, implement, and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with the Adoption Act, The Child and Family Services Authorities Act, and other legislation. Promote health and safety of children through ongoing communication with the Provincial Ministries of Child and Family Development, and the families of children at risk. Planning and development of community service programs. Integrate Zagim Anishinabk cultural traditions into programs. Oversee the coordination of family and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and integrated case management. Oversee development, implementation of jurisdiction of Child and Family Law.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters in Social Work preferred. Bachelor in Social Work with at least 7 years experience; or a related equivalent combination of education and experience. Senior management experience in Policy and program development. Ability to interpret and apply provincial and federal legislation. Valid driver's license, criminal record check with vulnerable sector, pre-employment substance test, and a child abuse registry check prior to commencement of employment.
