Description

Reporting to the Manager of Development Services, the Senior Development Officer is responsible for the professional review and coordination of complex planning and development applications. This role ensures compliance with provincial legislation, municipal bylaws, and technical safety standards while balancing regulatory enforcement with a solutions-oriented approach to growth in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

As a senior lead, you will provide expert technical advice to Council and the public, mentor junior staff, and manage multi-stakeholder relations in a rapidly evolving rural and semi-urban landscape. The position requires a proven ability to leverage extensive, progressively responsible experience in both the development approval and building permit phases to ensure departmental excellence and process integrity.

Duties:
Act as a subject matter expert on major long-range and regional planning initiatives.
Lead and support complex, multi-faceted projects with advanced project management skills, including coordination and resource management.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, representing the organizations interests effectively.
