Description

Le John Farms is a fourth-generation family farm specializing in the growing, processing, and retailing of pedigreed seed. Our farm is located approximately 25 minutes northwest of Saskatoon, with our seed cleaning facility located north of Martensville along Highway 12.
We plan to hire 12 summer students from either high school or post-secondary programs. This position offers hands-on experience with the day-to-day operations of a grain and seed farm in Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities
Follow all on-farm safety protocols
Assist the farm crew with general farm duties
Equipment cleaning, washing, and basic maintenance
Field work, including operating farm equipment (training provided)
Yard work such as mowing, tree trimming, and general cleanup
Check livestock and assist with fencing and livestock-handling facilities
Assist with grain movement and seed pickups
Follow cleaning procedures for trucks and equipment to prevent seed contamination
Help with the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems

Qualifications
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good communication and organizational skills
Valid Class 5 drivers licence required; Class 1 licence is an asset
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
Agricultural background is an asset but not required
Prior experience on a grain or livestock farm is an asset but not required
Prior experience operating equipment is an asset but not required
Able to work in a physically demanding environment
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Willingness to work longer days during peak periods (seeding, spraying, and harvest)

Start and end dates are flexible. Students may begin as early as March (depending on availability) and continue through late October. Please include your availability and preferred timeline in your application.
