There is a temporary part-time Clerk I position in Circulation Services starting 17 February 2026 and ending 29 August 2026, with possibility of extension. Interested applicants, please submit your cover letter and resume to Meghan O'Leary, Deputy Director, by 4:00 p.m. on 06 February 2026.
Applicants must be available to work day shifts (8:30-5), night shifts (12:30-9), and weekend shifts (8:30-5).
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for maintaining circulation standards and supporting stated Library policies
2. Performs clerical duties related to the operation of the Library
3. Provides assistance to patrons using library equipment
4. Provides a variety of support services for Library service units as required
5. Performs additional tasks as required
Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma or the successful completion of a grade twelve Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) test.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
1. Ability to take direction and complete assigned duties, often without constant supervision; requires good time management skills, attention to detail, and sound judgement
2. Ability to consistently provide courteous and friendly public service, to handle all situations with resourcefulness and tact, and to work well under pressure
3. Familiarity with computers
4. Good verbal and written communication skills
5. Proven ability to work cooperatively as part of a team, or independently
6. Ability to complete detailed work accurately
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience or training in a library environment
2. General office and clerical work experience
3. Technical or commercial courses in office software, clerical procedures, and/or the Internet
4. Knowledge of, or background in a specific subject or topic
5. Work experience especially in public service
