Description

The Northern Village of Air Ronge is inviting applications for a permanent, full-time Public Works Lead Hand position to join our Municipal operations team. This position reports to the Public Works Foreman and is responsible for performing preventative and operational maintenance on hydrants, lift stations, roadways, culverts, signage, equipment, and facilities. This position operates various municipal equipment including half-ton trucks, loader, gravel truck, backhoe, skid steer, garbage truck and others as required. The successful candidate may also respond to emergency situations and will be required to be on call on a rotational basis, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent education
A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License. A Class 1 drivers license and/or Air Endorsement (A) would be an asset.
Prior experience with heavy equipment typical of a Public Works department.
Knowledge of basic care and maintenance of vehicles and equipment would be an asset.
A practical knowledge of the operation, care, and maintenance of small tools/equipment, and safe work practices under Occupational Health and Safety.
Knowledge of the municipality, including the road systems, would be considered an asset.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, physically fit, energetic, and self-motivated individual.
Ability to work unsupervised and outdoors in varying conditions.
