Temporary Full-Time Teacher

Cando Community School

Living Sky School Division
Start Date: Immediately (flexibility for April start for new graduates)
End Date: June 30, 2026 or upon the return of the employee being replaced
Posting Open Until Filled

Living Sky School Division is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Teacher to join Cando Community School effective immediately. This position will continue until June 30, 2026, or upon the return of the employee being replaced, whichever occurs first.

The teaching assignment will be primarily high school courses, with a focus on Social, Science, and English Language Arts, and may be adjusted based on the strengths, qualifications, and interests of the successful candidate.

Cando Community School operates on an alternative calendar, offering an enhanced worklife balance through 14 Fridays off throughout the school year.

While the preferred start date is immediate, applications from new graduates who are available to begin in April will be accommodated where possible.

About Cando Community School

Cando Community School is located in the Hamlet of Cando and offers programming from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our students come from the Red Pheasant Cree First Nation, Mosquito First Nation, and surrounding communities.

We are seeking an educator who values relationship-based teaching, is skilled in secondary instruction, and is able to bring learning to life through culturally responsive, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive practices. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an alternative learning environment, differentiating instruction, and finding meaningful ways to center student voice and engagement.

Strong organization, flexibility, and a willingness to collaborate within a close-knit school community are key assets for success in this role.
