Description

Job Summary:

The Farm supervisor works in a swine barn environment and oversee the overall hog finishing production process. The role involves monitoring livestock health, nutrition, supervising the work of livestock workers, ensuring compliance with biosecurity, barn hygiene and safety standards.

Duties:



- Coordinate, assign and supervise the work of hog barn workers
- Supervise and oversee feeding, care, transporting and other livestock-related programs at the Hague hog farming facilities
- Supervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal health and welfare of pigs by ensuring proper supply of feeds, water and air
- Supervise and oversee health and growth of the herd in response to nutrition qualities of feeds supplied at different stages of the animal growth cycle
- Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies
- Develop work schedules and establish procedures of the existing farm work members as well as the new workers
- Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed
- Overseeing the selection and preparation of livestock for sale
- Assist in performing general farm duties where necessary

Job Requirements:

- At least 3 years of experience as a farm supervisor or in a similar role
- University degree or college diploma in animal husbandry or veterinary science
- Strong knowledge of livestock husbandry practices and biosecurity procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including work allocation and staff scheduling
- Reliable transportation to the worksite or willingness to reside near the worksite
