Description

The R.M. of Val Marie is a 33-township rural municipality with strong ranching and agricultural economy.

Key Responsibilities
- Operating equipment used in maintaining all public works assets within the R.M.
- Typical equipment includes graders, tractors, mowers, backhoe, rock picker, sprayers, mulcher, and service trucks.
- Perform daily inspections, routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Assist with maintenance of all municipal assets as required (such as building maintenance, signs, culverts, fire fighting equipment).
- Communicate with supervisors and crew members to complete work in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.

Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 (or higher) driver's licence
- Experience operating farm or heavy equipment preferred, but willing to train the right person.
- Current safety tickets (e.g., First Aid, Pesticide Applicators Licence) are strong assets.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work on many different tasks.
