Description

The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires a Youth Worker interested in Full Time shifts for the EGADZ Day Program and School Support Program.

EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.
The objective of the Day and School Support program is to provide community-based programming through; Education, Life Skills, Cultural Awareness, Community Programming and Employment Opportunities.  The main objective of the program is to increase social stabilization, then to assist youth to reintegrate into an appropriate educational and/ or work placement. The goals of the current programs will change to reflect the ongoing needs of the target population.  This is done by reducing risk factors related to reoffending by providing intensive supervision that reduces recidivism and empowers positive behavioral change.

Qualifications:
    Post-secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both.
    Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle.
    Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, partnering agencies.
    Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form.
    Working knowledge of computers/windows.
    Knowledge of Indigenous culture and issues.
    Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is Required (Within 3 Months).
    Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Persons (Within 6 Months)

Starting Wage $23.79
