In this role, youll create a nurturing, comforting, and safe environment within our group living setting. Youll be essential in maintaining household standards for cleanliness, nutrition, and budget management, all while fostering a supportive space for individuals with complex needs, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, and more.
Education and Professional Certification
* High school diploma required.
* Senior matriculation with specialized courses in food handling, cooking, or communication is an asset.
Experience
* At least one (1) year of experience cooking for large groups, such as in a family setting.
* Experience working with children, youth, or adults facing behavioral, cognitive, mental health, or developmental challenges is desirable.
Skills and Characteristics
* Proficient cooking and baking skills.
* Knowledge of the Canada Food Guide.
* Ability to create individualized meal plans for specialized dietary needs.
* Understanding of budgeting and resource allocation.
* Skillful in cleaning and maintaining a household.
* Strong organizational abilities.
* Capable of working collaboratively within a team and independently.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building genuine relationships.
* Emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
