The Transportation Engineering Technologist will work with a team of engineering technicians, public works members and communications specialists.
This position will perform the following duties:
- Manage various transportation engineering projects, programs, and expenditures
- Assist in the development and implementation of the City's Pavement Preservation Program
- Conduct all types of transportation engineering studies, temporary traffic control review and design, traffic safety studies, creating/updating policies and design standards, bylaw management, project management of traffic system projects
- Prepare and manage tenders or Requests for Proposals and other related procurement requirements
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as respond to inquiries or requests for service
- Assist with road closure reviews
Qualified applicants will possess:
- University Degree in Engineering or related design field particularly in municipal transportation OR Post Secondary Diploma in Engineering Technologies and a minimum 3 years of design and project management experience related to municipal transportation OR Engineering Technologist Certificate with a minimum of 5 years of design and project management experience related to municipal transportation.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan OR Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and vehicle available for work use
- Knowledge and experience in pavement preservation strategies and projects
- Advanced skill with office software such as MS Office products and specialized analysis software
- Skilled in strategic planning, work teams, and working with consultants and contractors and being able to manage multiple projects with vary deadlines
