Description

The Ministry of Social Services supports positive outcomes for individuals and families through income support, child and family services, disability supports, and affordable housing. The ministry is offering an opportunity to join a dedicated team in Buffalo Narrows as a Child Protection Supervisor, contributing to safer communities and stronger families through the Family Centered Case Management model.

The ministry is seeking individuals committed to improving the well-being of children and families, with the ability to provide protective, preventative, and supportive services. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, compassion, and a commitment to relationshipbased practice and community connection.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of child protection issues, including socio-economic factors that contribute to abuse or neglect, as well as experience guiding and training diverse staff teams. They will understand multicultural beliefs and values, particularly First Nations and Metis perspectives, and be skilled in applying familycentred case management in assessing, planning, and evaluating service needs. Strong communication, collaboration, and adherence to service standards are essential.

Responsibilities of the role include supervising and supporting Child and Family Program staff, leading change within the work unit, delivering Structured Decision Making training, contributing to policy and service delivery implementation, liaising with community partners, and representing the ministry on committees.
