Description

The Ministry of Social Services is offering opportunities for term Child Protection Workers in the Nipawin and Melfort offices, supporting communities through protective, preventative, and support services grounded in the Family Centered Case Management model. The ministry is seeking candidates who are devoted to helping children and families, able to work collaboratively with diverse communities, and committed to culturally informed practice, including work alongside First Nations Child and Family Service agencies. Candidates should be prepared for flexible hours, travel, and transporting children and families during service delivery.

Required knowledge and qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university (SASW/CASW or CASWE approved). Candidates must demonstrate strong assessment and riskanalysis skills, understanding of child protection legislation, and the ability to manage complex, emotionally challenging situations. Effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work within multidisciplinary and communitybased settings are essential.
