Description

Reporting to the Manager of Mill Operations, the Mill Manager is responsible for feed/grain management by maintaining strong relationships with farmers and ensuring all grain is received, milled and shipped within specified requirements and within set timeframes.  This position is also responsible for ensuring Feed Assure protocols are adhered to and directly supervising staff at the mill.

General Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for managing an 60,000+ tonnes per year mill producing hog feed (pelleted or mashed).
Supervision, ensure safety, and administration of mill staff
Scheduling production and deliveries
Maintenance of Feed Assure certification including staff training
Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the mill, yard, vehicles, and equipment
Quality control including overseeing of monthly inventory counts
Ensuring grain is received, milled, and shipped according to specifications.
Inventory Management
Grain and ingredient procurement and scheduling
Develop and maintain preventive programs
Public relations
Administration tasks as required
Other duties as required

Education/Experience Required
Excellent organizational skills
Supervisory experience
Commitment to quality and attention to detail
Good computer skills
Experience with mill batching systems
A good understanding of swine diets and feed quality parameters
Valid class 5 drivers license, 1A license is an asset
