Description

Canadian Mental Health Assoc. (Sask.Div.) invites applications for a Permanent part-time (24 hrs/week)Vocational/Recreational Development Worker in our Weyburn Branch.
Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Worker is responsible for:
Delivering structured, client-centred services developed in collaboration with clients that may include social, recreational, employment, on-the-job training, vocational development, life-skills coaching, and related support activities. These services are offered within a community service centre or other community facility, with the goal of empowering clients to independently access and utilize community resources and supports.
Designing, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitative, vocational, social, recreational, and recovery-oriented programs that address the specialized needs of our clientele and the broader community.
Utilizing community and volunteer resources to plan and facilitate social and recreational programs that support mental health recovery. These activities provide opportunities for participants to learn, practice, and strengthen skills that promote mental wellness, community.
Supporting social media, website, marketing, and communications, including planning and creating content.

Adapting to an evolving work environment, as duties and responsibilities may shift to meet the changing needs of programs and services. Some heavy lifting is required; candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Completion of some post-secondary training in the social sciences and significant experience in a human services field, preferably the mental health field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training is required. A good knowledge of community resources, effective organizational, public relations and communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must have a valid drivers license and will be required to provide a clean Criminal Record Check
