COMMUNITY SHELTER COORDINATOR - MLCN Shelter for Women
The Community Shelter Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of shelter operations, programs, and community relationships. This role will be instrumental in preparing the shelter for opening and ensuring high-quality, ethical, and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Staff Coordination
-Coordinate day-to-day shelter operations and service delivery
-Promote a positive, respectful, and trauma-informed work environment
-Coordinate staff meetings to support communication and teamwork
ADMINISTRATION & FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
-Oversee shelter operations in alignment with approved budgets and funding agreements
-Ensure required reports are submitted to government funders and licensing bodies
-Coordinate physical maintenance and operational readiness of the facility
PROGRAMS & SERVICE DELIVERY
-Monitor and evaluate service delivery and program effectiveness
-Ensure shelter philosophy and objectives are reflected in daily programming
COMMUNITY & PUBLIC RELATIONS
-Represent the Shelter within the community and sector
-Build strong relationships with partner agencies and transition houses
-Participate in inter-agency committees and collaborative initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
-Degree in administration, management, or a related field OR a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a leadership or coordination role
-Experience in non-profit operations, financial oversight, and program delivery
-Knowledge of First Nations cultures. Ability to speak one of the PAGC official languages is a strong asset.
-Valid Saskatchewan driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
