Description

Junior Lifeguards support the safe, positive operation of the Foam Lake Water Park while gaining handson experience in lifeguarding, customer service, and pool operations. This role helps youth build confidence, leadership skills, and familiarity with aquatic safety.

Requirements
Minimum age 14
Bronze Cross
Standard First Aid/CPRC or AEC
Saskatchewan Workers Readiness Certificate
Asset: interest in future NLS or Instructor training

Key Responsibilities
Assist senior guards by observing patron activity and identifying unsafe behaviour
Provide deck support during lessons, public swims, and busy periods
Help maintain clean, safe pool areas through basic cleaning tasks
Support equipment organization and lesson preparation
Shadow senior staff to learn scanning, emergency response, safety plans, and basic water chemistry (observation only)
Participate in inservice training
Interact positively with patrons and direct questions to senior staff
Assist with worksheets, equipment, attendance sheets, and checklists
Maintain professionalism and act as a positive role model
Other duties as assigned

Job Demands
Moderate physical effort, exposure to heat, humidity, chemicals, and outdoor weather. Hours may vary for events or staffing needs.

Work Schedule
June 1August 31 with varied daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
