Position Summary
You will enforce fire prevention regulations, inspect new and existing buildings, review fire safety plans, support public education, and participate in fire and explosion investigations. Youll also assist with building plan reviews, provide guidance to stakeholders, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, bylaws, and legislation.
What You Bring
- Grade 12 Diploma and experience aligned with Fire Inspector I, II, or III
- IFSAC certifications: NFPA 1031 Level I & II and NFPA 1033
- Background in fire suppression, inspection, or fire protection technology
- Strong knowledge of fire codes, bylaws, legislation, and fire protection systems
- Excellent communication, investigation, and reportwriting skills
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment and confidentiality
- Valid drivers licence and personal vehicle; availability for callbacks
- Assets: NFPA 1035, ICS 100, and additional NFPA certifications
