Overview:
The Coordinator will take direction from Prince Alberts Community Alcohol Strategy Steering Committee (CASSC), and report to CASSC as well as the Director of the Northern Alcohol Strategy (NAS), Community Safety and Well-Being branch. This position will provide support directly to CASSC by enhancing regional efforts to reduce harms from alcohol and find collaborative opportunities to increase community safety and well-being.
CASSCs primary objective is to provide strategy and a support network that will create awareness and inspire action to build healthier communities through changing its relationship with alcohol. CASSC works to motivate, mobilize and encourage action that will lead to frequent and fun alcohol-free events, safe and responsible alcohol consumption whenever it is served, as well as addiction prevention and intervention.
Duties: perform duties related to administration/coordination of CASSC as follows:
- Lead community engagement efforts for Prince Albert and area: surveys, social media posts, etc.
Liaise with other communities and organizations engaged in alcohol strategy and community improvement work to identify areas of collaboration
- Perform all administrative duties such as bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, invoice payments, etc.
- Arrange and attend CASSC meetings to participate in the board discussions and take minutes.
- Support the writing of grant applications on behalf of CASSC as they arise
- Promote CASSC services and activities
Requirements: computer proficiency, knowledge of non-profit structure and experience working with boards, successful candidate will provide liability insurance, valid drivers license and access to your own vehicle (mileage related to your duties will be reimbursed, ability to work from home, and criminal record check.
