Description

We are looking for a full-time Purchaser to join our team.  At Ross Machine Shop you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of distinct projects as we provide custom machining and fabrication to our customers.  As well, you will benefit from flexible hours with NO shift work!
General Responsibilities
- Order all materials and supplies so they comply with the applicable standards. (eg. CSA)
- Source materials for price & delivery from quality vendors as required
- Negotiate volume discounts where applicable
- Source tooling as requested
- Arrange transportation
- Deal with receiving issues if there are shortages from our suppliers
- Assist Shippers/Receivers with material issues if required
- Prepare shipping documentation and customs for cross border shipping
- Exceptional data entry skills
- Communicate with vendors

Skills & Qualifications
- Certification in Supply Chain Management or proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
- Ability to secure favorable terms, prices, and contracts
- Proficient in data analysis to monitor market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and forecast needs
- Building and maintaining strong, productive relationships with vendors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate computer knowledge
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
