Job Summary: Behavioral Support Worker
The Behavioral Support Worker is essential in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges through a person-centered approach. By collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, this role focuses on promoting positive behavior, emotional regulation, and independence to enhance overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support & Skill Building: Teach daily living skills, social interaction, and coping strategies. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages self-advocacy and adaptive behaviors.
Collaboration & Communication: Work with social workers, schools, and families to ensure cohesive care. Participate in team meetings to share insights and provide progress updates.
Documentation & Monitoring: Maintain precise records of interventions and goals. Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of support strategies and adjust as needed.
Crisis Intervention & Safety: Implement safety protocols and proactive care models (CHS) to manage challenging behaviors and ensure a secure environment.
Advocacy & Community: Advocate for individual rights and facilitate community integration by connecting families with essential resources.
Operational Excellence: Adhere to company standards, residential manuals, and HR policies. Manage daily house operations including meal prep, cleaning, and maintenance.
Health & Wellness: Administer medications ethically and provide immediate First Aid/CPR (Level C) when necessary. Support psychological development and facilitate family reunification efforts.
Accountability: Maintain strict attendance, participate in monthly staff training, and fulfill shift requirements, including transporting youth to activities.
