The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, Operational Response - Air Operations, has an opening for a qualified Pilot Captain position located in La Ronge or PA. Air Operations provides aerial firefighting support to the public of Saskatchewan in compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
As a Captain you will report to the Chief Pilot and will be responsible for duties relevant to the organization as assigned, including the safe and efficient management and operation of aircraft on assigned flights in accordance with the Canadian Air Regulations, the Aircraft Flight Manual, the Company Operations Manual, and applicable Standard Operating Procedures. This position is subject to seasonal recall on a modified work schedule.
As the successful candidate, you will have the following qualifications:
- Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and endorsed for Multi-Engine Aeroplanes;
- Valid and current Group 1 Instrument Rating;
- 3000 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC) (of which 1000 hours multi-engine PIC, 500 hours PIC IFR);
- Two years or 500 hours experience on Tanker aircraft (CV-580 or CL-215) in forest fire suppression;
- Valid Class I Medical Certificate as outlined by Transport Canada;
- Ability to pass an annual Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC), Line Indoctrinate, and Line Checks on the assigned aircraft, as well as successful completion of all required training as outlined by Transport Canada, Air Operations Training Program, and company guidelines; and
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers license or equivalent.
