Description

The Seasonal Equipment Operator is responsible for operating municipal equipment including graders, tractors, front-end loaders, mowers, and utility vehicles in support of rural road maintenance and infrastructure projects. Primary duties include road grading, mowing, culvert installation and maintenance, sign repair and installation, noxious weed control, and general public works operations.

This is a seasonal position with the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment; however, this is not guaranteed.

The position includes routine servicing and minor maintenance of assigned equipment and requires safe operation in accordance with municipal policies and occupational health and safety standards.

The successful candidate must be capable of working independently, exercising sound judgment in the field, and maintaining effective communication with Administration and Council. Work may involve physically demanding tasks, lifting up to 50 lbs., extended hours during peak seasons, and exposure to varying weather conditions.

Experience operating graders, tractors, and loaders is considered an asset. A valid Class 1 or Class 3 drivers licence, project coordination skills, and certifications in CPR, hazardous workspaces, or power mobile equipment are also considered assets.

Additional duties may be assigned as required to support municipal operations and seasonal priorities.
