Description

The Ministry of Government Relations supports municipal relations, the Provincial Capital Commission, and advances reconciliation through partnerships with First Nation, Mtis, and northern communities. The ministry engages diverse stakeholders, responds to growth opportunities and challenges, and delivers responsible, responsive government initiatives.

The ministry is seeking an Executive Director for the Indigenous and Northern Relations Branch. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, this leader will build and maintain partnerships with First Nations and Mtis communities, strengthen collaboration across ministries, Crowns, and northern stakeholders, and guide policy and program development. The role includes leading and coaching staff, overseeing programs and initiatives, managing fiscal and human resources, contributing to senior leadership priorities, and fostering an innovative, highperforming team aligned with Our Commitment to Excellence.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong record of building inclusive, engaged teams; holds a masters degree or relevant undergraduate degree with significant experience; and brings expertise in strategic initiatives, change management, business planning, project management, facilitation, negotiation, and relationshipbuilding with Indigenous and northern partners and government stakeholders. Experience supporting committees and working groups is also required. Indigenous language skills are an asset.

The Government of Saskatchewan offers competitive salary and benefits, pension, vacation and SDOs, EFAP Elder/Knowledge Keeper services, inclusive work environments, and advancement opportunities.
