What youll accomplish:
- Improve plant safety and efficiency by identifying and addressing process problems and perform targeted monitoring of process units to provide recommendations for improvements
- Team-up with other disciplines, subject matter experts, and operational personnel to solve process problems and see that safety and quality objectives are maintained or improved. Past industrial experience would be considered an asset
- Complete process design projects that minimize hazards, meet design expectations, improve operability and maintenance, minimize costs, and adhere to relevant internal and external industry standards
- Write, review, and update key design documents including P&IDs, material balances, technical reports, procedures, and construction specifications
- Provide technical support during process inspections, studies, PHAs, investigations and all stages of design
- Support the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction program by managing energy use baselines, leading energy and emission reduction initiatives, and monitoring the GHG reduction KPIs
- Work within and support the Management of Change (MOC) process for scope development/project execution
- Provide dynamic technical support for operations and maintenance to maintain safe, reliable, and competitive operation
What were seeking:
- A bachelors degree from a recognized university, and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-training with APEGS
- Ability to innovate with a focus on efficiency, optimization and compliance to environmental regulations
Work Location & Schedule:
- McClean Lake mine site
- 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule, some flexibility to meet personnel/company needs
- Normally an 11 hour work day, some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
- Occasional work from the Saskatoon Head Office
