Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Waterworks Labourer to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of municipal water and wastewater systems. The successful candidate will work as part of a crew responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted water services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, and sewer systems

Perform manual excavation, trenching, shoveling, and backfilling

Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment

Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively

Direct traffic and ensure worksite safety in accordance with regulations

Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles

Respond to emergency water main breaks or service disruptions as required

Follow all occupational health and safety guidelines

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous construction or utility labour experience considered an asset

Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions

Knowledge of safe trenching and excavation practices

Valid drivers license

Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and on-call shifts

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Working Conditions:

Outdoor work in all weather conditions

Exposure to heavy equipment and traffic environments

Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs or more)

Kneeling, bending, climbing, and prolonged standing
